On January 24, 2020, Faraz Farzam of Madison Investment Advisors visited the AIM program.

Faraz Farzam - frequent visitor and friend of the Marquette AIM program - spoke to students at the beginning of the 2020 spring semester

On January 24, 2020, Faraz Farzam of Madison Investment Advisors visited the AIM program and again talked about his investment philosophy and process to equity investing.

He is a portfolio manager on the Madison Small Cap Equity team. Faraz is a CFA who splits his time between New York City and Madison. We were pleased to catch up with him when he was in Milwaukee on January 24, 2020.

In 2019, Madison Investment Advisors purchased Milwaukee-based asset manager Broadview Advisors.   Rick Lane, Aaron Garcia and Faraz Farzam transitioned to MIA and are managing the Madison Small Cap Equity Fund. Their approach has always emphasized deep, bottom-up fundamental analysis.

“Madison Investment Advisors utilizes a fundamental equity analysis process that is consistent with Broadview’s previous approach and philosophy – and it should be a very successful combination,” according to AIM director, David Krause.

“Faraz has visited our program many times in the past and we have always appreciated his sound blend of investment philosophy and his detailed investment process – he has always been a disciplined analyst and my students have benefited greatly over the years from his thinking and approach to investment research. Many of our students have interned with him and have enjoyed considerable future success under his direction.”

Faraz discussed with the students their '5 Pillars Approach to Investing".

"It was a pleasure to have Faraz back in the classroom and we look to continue our strong relationship with him - and the Madison Investment Advisors organization," said Krause. "He has always been one of the best fundamental analyst in the business and at MIA I know the small cap fund will continue to thrive."
