As the end of the semester draws closer and winter is upon us,
the activities within the AIM program are heating up. There will be three sets of visitors this week to the AIM
program:

Jeffrey
Bryden, CFA, is the Founder, President and Chief Investment Officer of JB
Investment Management. His firm specializes in managing customized fixed income
portfolios for institutions and selected individuals. Jeff will talk to
Marquette students about portfolio management – as well as his firm’s fixed
income investment process, strategy and investment philosophy.

John
DeCaro, CFA, a Founding Principal and Portfolio Manager at Elementum Advisors -
and Christopher Cebula, CFA, CAIA, and AIM program alumnus, a Portfolio
Management Associate – will talk about collateralized natural event reinsurance
investments. Elementum has built an
institutional quality alternative investment management firm that specializes
in reinsurance and risk-linked investment strategies (with expertise in liquid
cat-bonds and collateralized reinsurance investments).

Tom Eck,
CFA, is a Founding Principal of Cortina Asset Management and has managed the
Cortina Small Cap Opportunity strategy for institutional and high net worth
clients since 2004. Cortina specializes in small cap portfolio management for
public and private institutions, as well as high net worth individuals through
offices in Milwaukee and New York.
Additionally, on Friday, December 4th, eight stocks
will be pitched by AIM students. Beginning at 2:00 in Room 105 of Straz Hall
(College of Business Administration), the AIM students will present the
following stocks for consideration into the AIM Small Cap and International
Equity Funds:
