Marquette AIM program and the basketball team had a successful doubleheader in Madison this week

It was an enjoyable couple of days in Madison this week. First, the AIM student stock presentations at American Family Insurance were well received and successful. And secondly, the Marquette/UW-Madison basketball game was thrilling – with MU getting the upper hand.

Dr. David Krause, Marquette’s AIM program director was fortunate to be the guest of Madison Investment Advisors at the game. “This is always the toughest game of the year for me to get involved. I obviously enjoy Buzz Williams and Marquette’s relentless brand of basketball – and yet my undergraduate degree (BBA-finance) is from UW-Madison and I still have strong loyalties to that institution – including my son who is a senior there. I kind of have to play it down the middle.”

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Marquette’s victory, 61-54, ended the Badgers' 23-game winning streak on their home floor, which represented the nation's fifth-longest streak. "To win in this type of environment, against a Hall of Fame coach, with the winning percentage they have had here at the Kohl Center, it's not just one guy or two guys or the head coach," coach Buzz Williams.

Krause concluded, “It was a fun afternoon at the game. It’s a hoot watching the UW and Marquette fans go at it during the game. I’m thankful for the invitation to attend the big game from Frank Burgess of Madison Investment Advisors. We’ll return the favor in February when Frank comes to speak to the investment students at Marquette. We’ll be sure to take him to a Big East game at the Bradley Center. It was a productive trip to Madison for Marquette!”
