View the 1st Set of Marquette AIM Student Equity Pitches for the Class of 2017 on Friday, April 1st at 2:30 CST (and join us on Twitter)

You can join the AIM Program Student Equity Presentations in person, online or via Twitter on Friday, April 1st at 2:30 pm CST
The AIM student equity pitches take place each Friday afternoon during the semester – either in the AIM Room or at a local investment company. Watch the first presentations by the students in the AIM Class of 2017.

The students prepare and distribute a professional equity write-up (note: every AIM write-up since the inception of the program in 2005 is archived here).

This week’s equity write-ups can be found at:

The students are responsible for making a five-minute pitch before their peers, faculty and any alumni or investment professional in attendance (note: the Friday afternoon equity presentations are also webcast live - see below on how to join the webcast).

Following the student’s pitch the floor is opened for questions and answers for about ten minutes. This has been highly instructive as the students must be prepared to defend their investment recommendation and answer questions in an extemporaneous manner.

The Applied Investment Management (AIM) program and the Marquette finance alumni will again sponsor and facilitate the 9th annual ‘Ins and Outs of Wall Street’ event.  In the years past, over 40 alumni and 140 students typically attended this event.  The Ins and Outs of Wall Street is especially useful to students considering careers in the finance industry and is open to all Marquette students from any major.

The Ins and Outs of Wall Street is an alumni driven event covering career opportunities in the following functional areas:

  1. Investment Banking
  2. Sales & Trading
  3. Wealth Management
  4. Investment Research & Asset Management
  5. Alternative Investments (Private Equity & Hedge Funds)
  6. Commercial Banking

During the second half of the event a series of breakout sessions provide students with an opportunity to engage in a more in-depth discussion with alumni.  The breakout sessions focus on the six functional areas.

Following lunch, various alumni provide real world advice on how to prepare for a career in finance. The session will include specific advice on interviewing skills, recommended business apparel, and mock interviews.  The event will concluded with a networking session with alumni.  We are very thankful for the involvement of our alumni in organizing and supporting this event. Networking is the key to job search success, and this event will provide an excellent opportunity for our students to interact with leading experts from the financial industry.
