Marquette Students Will Visit Warren Buffett in Omaha This
Week
On Friday, November 18th, twenty students from Marquette
University’s Applied Investment Management (AIM) program will have the
opportunity to spend the day with legendary investor and business magnate,
Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.

AIM Director, Dr. David Krause, and 2009 AIM alumnus, David
Martin, will escort 20 undergraduate students to Omaha, Nebraska, to tour two
Omaha-based Berkshire Hathaway companies—Borsheims and the Nebraska Furniture
Mart. They will also have lunch with Buffett at one of his favorite local
eateries, Anthony’s Steak House. The Marquette students will be joined by
students from other schools (Columbia, Yale, Grinnell, Boston University,
Concordia and Maryland). A two hour question-and-answer session with Mr.
Buffett will be held prior to the lunch.

Dr. Krause commented, “This will be our second opportunity to
visit Mr. Buffett. I know that the group of students two years ago found the
visit to be an experience that will have a lasting impact. Mr. Buffett not only talked on a variety of finance
topics, but he also discussed the importance of developing good habits early in
one’s professional career. He offered valuable life lessons and emphasized the
importance of being a lifelong learner. I am confident we will again find the
visit to be among the highlights of the students’ college experiences.”

Dr. Krause said, “Our special thanks go to David Martin, who
was gain responsible for arranging this opportunity. We are thankful for his
continued involvement with the AIM program at Marquette. He and Warren Buffett
have developed a true friendship over the past several years and it was great
to hear David and Marquette receive a special shout out from Mr. Buffett the
last time we visited.”
