Fuss of Loomis Sayles was the Keynote Speaker at the Milwaukee CFA January 2016

On Wednesday, January 13, 2015,
the CFA Society of Milwaukee hosted a luncheon with Dan Fuss, CFA, as its
distinguished guest speaker.
Mr. Fuss, a Wauwatosa, Wisconsin native, again provided the audience with his economic and market update
of the coming year – a tradition that has been maintained for many years with
the CFA Society.
Dan Fuss has nearly 60 years of
experience in the investment industry and has been with Loomis, Sayles &
Company since 1976. He is vice chairman of the firm's Board of Directors and
manages the firm's flagship Loomis Sayles Bond Fund, which won the 2009
Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year award in the fixed income category, in
addition to the Loomis Sayles Investment Grade Bond, Investment Grade Fixed
Income, Strategic Income, Fixed Income, Institutional High Income, Dividend
Income and Global Equity and Income funds.
In 2012, Dan received both the
Institutional Investor Money Management Lifetime Achievement Award and the
Lipper Excellence in Investing Award. Dan received the CFA Society of Milwaukee
Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 and was named to the Fixed Income Analysts
Society's Hall of Fame in 2000 in recognition of his contributions and lifetime
achievements toward the advancement of the analysis of fixed income securities
and portfolios. He has twice been president of the Boston Security Analysts
Society. He is recognized as one of the elite fixed income managers by his peers.

Mr. Fuss earned a BS and an MBA
from Marquette University. He actively supports higher education and serves on numerous academic and civic board. Dan also served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 and held
the rank of Lieutenant.
In 2005, Dan Fuss was
instrumental in supporting the creation of the Applied Investment Management
(AIM) program at Marquette University. He and Dr. David Krause, AIM program
director, (and other Marquette alumni) collaborated to establish the AIM program, which has become one of the top
undergraduate applied finance programs. In 2006, the AIM program was named the
first global undergraduate CFA Institute ‘Program Partner’ and US News & World
Report has consistently ranked Marquette’s undergraduate finance program in the
Top 25 of all US universities.
As always, Mr. Fuss’ views about
the state of the global economy were insightful. Those in attendance learned
his thoughts about the current geo-political environment, as well as his thinking about
the role central banks will play in 2016. The Marquette students in attendance had the pleasure to hear and meet Mr. Fuss, truly one of the top investment professionals of the
past 50 years.
