Dr. David Krause, AIM director, said “I enjoy having our
alumni return to campus and I especially enjoy having members of Baird
Advisors’ Fixed Income team. Annually in mid-September they host the Baird
Institutional Investors Conference and we arrange their visit to campus so that
we have an opportunity to receive their macro-economic assessment and outlook.
The students really enjoy the presentation each year and it was a pleasure to
have Dan and Andy join us again this year.”
Tranchita, Krause and O'Connell |
The guests form Baird talked to the students in Marquette’s
Fixed Income class about the current environment of low (and even negative)
rates and the level of economic uncertainty. Dan and Andy answered questions
about the current level of interest rates and the lower than expected inflation
rates experienced by the U.S. and other major economies have been experiencing.
In addition, the students enjoyed hearing the conversations between Dan, Andy
and Dr. Krause about the economic outlook and the potential impact of the
upcoming U.S. elections.
Dr. Krause concluded, “Having the professionals from Baird
Advisors join us at the beginning of the semester is an excellent introduction
for my students into the world of fixed income investing – which incorporates
an understanding of geo-politics, central bank policy, credit analysis and
financial theory.”
