Marquette Finance Students Treated to Presentations by Top
Industry Experts
The week of February 17, 2019, already has seen three financial professionals
visit the AIM Room on Marquette’s campus to address Dr. Krause’s students - and the student Economics and Finance clubs.

Blockchain entrepreneur, Michael Anton Adam, is the founder of
several Milwaukee-based FinTech firms including @ ChainTracks.io, DocLaunch and
BankMyBiz.com He has assisted Dr. Krause in the delivery of blockchain and
FinTech topics – and is a member of Marquette’s Department of Finance Advisory
Board. Michael is a seasoned SaaS
innovator and an instructor of blockchain technology. These are his two newest ventures:
- ChainTracks.io is defining how companies of any size can utilize Blockchain today. Blockchain for audit and regulation. Blockchain SaaS.
- DocLaunch is revolutionizing the idea of document management and client engagement.

Adam Peck, CFA, is the founder of Milwaukee-based Riverwater
Partners, a leading equity investment firm. The firm operates within the ESG
space and successfully aligns socially responsible values with investments to generate
superior returns.
Dr. Krause said, "Adam did an excellent job in the AIM class in explaining
the trends in socially responsible investing - as well as his investment approach." He has been in the investment
industry since 1999 and in 2016 founded Riverwater Partners. Previously, he was
a partner at Heartland Advisors, a multi-billion value boutique based in
Milwaukee, where he managed two small cap value mutual funds.
On Thursday afternoon the Economics and Financial Management
Association student clubs at Marquette were treated to a presentation by Jim
Bianco (Marquette alumnus and president/founder of Bianco Research). Jim is a
prolific speaker and talked about current geo-political, financial markets and
Federal Reserve decision-making. His lecture was entitled “Is a Retest Coming”
and generated considerable discussion from the students in the audience – which
exceeded the capacity of the AIM Room.

Dr. Krause concluded, “It has been a very busy week for students
and faculty in the Finance and Economics departments. We’ve had several
high-level speakers and the students had plenty of opportunity to interact with
some of the leading thought-leaders in FinTech, ESG investing, and financial markets.
Joe Daniels (Economics Chair) and I were pleased that Sungjun Huh and Stephen
Cole of the Economics department participated in Jim Bianco’s event.”
Krause said, "The students were treated to an impressive set of guest speakers this week. Dr. Daniels and I are encourage our students to apply their knowledge and this opportunity to interact with professionals is a valuable part of the learning experience."
