The annual Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium (SMIFC) conference is an opportunity to enhance student learning and scholarship, record best practices in investment management among SMIF partners, provide a vehicle for student networking and exchange of ideas, and provide a permanent repository of relevant literature and recorded student experiences.

Bill Walker, AIM co-teacher and adjunct instructor in Marquette’s Department of Finance is the faculty advisor.

This year’s project is a financial analysis exercise of the subject company: Apple, Inc. (ticker: AAPL). Financial ratios, valuation models and other statistics and variables can be used in the analysis – in addition to macroeconomic and industry analysis. An investment write-up and a video presentation will be evaluated by CFA Society of Chicago volunteers on a blind-review basis.
