AIM Students Form the Core of Marquette’s NCAA Men’s 2015-2016 Tennis Team

Successful Weekend of Tennis for Marquette's AIM Students
Nick Dykema

The Marquette University men’s tennis team completed a weekend sweep of BIG EAST opponents at Helfaer Tennis Stadium, crushing Xavier Sunday afternoon 6-1 and Creighton 6-1 on Friday.

Daniel Fernandez
Marquette AIM students have played on the Men’s and Women’s teams over the years – and the classes of 2016 and 2017 are no exception. Daniel Fernandez and Connor Muth are graduating this May and Nick Dykema and Kristin Trukov are presently juniors.

The tandem of junior Nick Dykema and senior Daniel Fernandez trailed 4-1 in its matchup at No. 1 before earning a come-from-behind decision.

Kristin Trukov
Connor Muth
Dykema and Fernandez – playing as singles and doubles – had a great weekend winning 5 of 6 matches. Kristin Trukov missed this weekend’s matches due to an injury, but is expected back in action soon. The Golden Eagles will wrap up their three-game homestand on April 16 when they host Butler.
