Summer Internship Interviews Have Begun for Students in the AIM Class of 2012

Dr. David Krause, AIM program director said, "The interviewing season for summer internships has begun for the AIM students in the Class of 2012. This week on-campus interviews with R.W. Baird were held for interested finance majors. At least 12 other firms have contacted either me or Marquette Career Services to set up interviews with Marquette finance majors yet this semester."

He added, "The internship opportunities are with all different types of finance firms - including asset managers, private equity firms, investment banks, consulting firms, and private wealth managers. The firms are geographically diverse and are located in Milwaukee, Chicago, Seattle, New York, etc. Many other firms will be coming to campus this semester and early in 2011. In addition, the bulge bracket investment banks are just opening up their on-line applications and several of our students will be pursuing these opportunities."

"The AIM web site and this blog have contained numerous links to articles and videos on how to interview successfully," Krause commented. "We believe that the summer internship is one of the most important aspects of the AIM program - it emphasizes the 'applied' element and supports the classroom education."

He added, "The 'Ins and Outs of Wall Street' event we have held each spring is a great aid for our students. Our students gain a good understanding of what firms are seeking. We are hopeful that leading firms continue to come to campus to interview and hire our finance majors."
