As previously reported, Marquette's new Finance in New York Program completed its first summer.  Six students had the opportunity to live, work and enjoy a variety of Marquette alumni networking events this summer.  These finance students were also immersed in the cultural riches of New York City, taking the Arts in a Democratic Society offering taught by Dr. Curtis Carter.
Program director, Jeff Germanotta, reported that the student feedback from this summer’s New York interns was extremely positive. "We offer our sincere appreciation to the many Marquette alumni and their employers who helped start Marquette’s Finance in New York Program in 2018. Dr. Carter was outstanding - his course allowed students to focus on the role of the arts in building a well informed society. I now understand why Marquette students in the Les Aspin Center in Washington DC rave about Dr. Carter's course," he stated.

Here is some of the student feedback:

“I really enjoyed being with other Marquette students, especially with the housing ….. made my summer more enjoyable….”

“Professor Carter's course was amazing - it was truly one of the highlights of the summer program."

"Everyone I worked next to was interested in the success of others …. everyone was willing to help me learn.”

“I loved the alumni events.”

"The cultural experiences provided to us by Dr. Carter were outstanding. I never would have been able to explore the arts in NYC on my own."

“My experience with my employer was outstanding.  Everyone was extremely kind, patient and knowledgeable.”

Marquette’s Finance in New York Program provides juniors and seniors in accounting, economics and finance with the opportunity to live, work, learn and enjoy the numerous cultural venues within the world’s financial capi

Dr. David Krause, director of Applied Investment Management at Marquette stated, "The NY program is an exciting addition to the COBA’s applied learning offering - which includes the AIM program - and we look forward to growing the program in the future."
